We offer Project Management of the whole assignment from start to finish and only assign the most experienced technical translators with specific industry expertise to a project.
A translator who has studied engineering as well as linguistics and may also have work experience within the industry sector, would only translate an engineering text. The translators will only be translating into their native language. The Project Manager will also ensure that every text had been revised by a second translator and that all formatting and editing of the text has been restored throughout the document.
In many cases, we utilise terminology software in order to provide the customer with the most cost effective solutions. Any repetition of phrases, etc that occurs within the text is stored within a glossary. These terms can then be utilised for all future translation assignments within that language combination.
The accuracy of a technical translation is business critical and if the text is not translated correctly this can have serious business consequences potentially even leading to an accident. If, for example, Health and Safety documentation, operating procedures, product specifications, were incorrect this could lead to the injury of personnel and equipment. This type of documentation should only be translated by language specialists.
Companies can be reluctant to outsource translation because they believe that an external supplier would not have the same knowledge and expertise as their own in house personnel. McFelder offer a solution to this problem.
Our team of highly qualified engineers, who are also native speakers of the language of destination, will liaise directly with the client before and during the project to ensure that they receive the optimum translation.
Frequently, however customers have developed their own in house terminology glossaries. McFelder software can incorporate this data, which can then be accessed by the translators, who will then incorporate this into the translation.
